My guess is that meta sees another one of their social media sites go down the drain and this time they want to try something to stop it.

I don’t see this as a good thing. I see it as a logical step after the success of the fediverse. But I am afraid of how it will develop, with more commercial participants in fedi.

Ich hatte letztens irgendwo gelesen, dass die wohl doch nicht so schlimm sind für die Astronomie wie ich als Laie erstmal dachte.

Die haben sonen Schild den sie Richtung Erde drehen um nicht hin zu leuchten und Weltraumschrott werden sie eher auch nicht, da sie von alleine abstürzen oder in den Weltraum verschwindet. Kp ob das so stimmt alles.

Ich wollte sagen ich finde das Konzept auch nicht schlecht, es braucht nichtmal ne App.

Ich glaube nicht, dass das eine tolle Erfolgsstrategie ist.

Man könnte sich auch manuell hinsetzen und einen haufen Links einreichen, das hätte den gleichen Effekt - nur dass es halt manuell gerade keiner macht

Schau dir mal z.B. an wie viel ich gepostet und kommentiert hab, sowas bleibt Handarbeit befuerchte ich, der Effekt ist anders.

Ich hab so gut wie kein Interesse mir links anzuschauen, die jemand oder ein bot ohne sie zu lesen gepostet hat.

No in theory they plan to be federated properly through the AT protocol I believe. It’s not compatible with the fediverse, but that’s not necessary to be federated.

At the moment though they only have one server and that one doesn’t even federate with the AT protocol yet. So at the moment it’s just a twitter clone, without any special features.

I don’t know if I think that they should talk to other services, I think that if they truly built a very user friendly twitter alternative that is spread out on many servers that are connected and independently run, that would be a huge goal. But I don’t at all believe they’ll even manage that.

That’s why I love the fediverse, we have that going already and even more :)

I don’t understand the bluesky hype. If it ever is properly federated, I’ll try it out, but until then it’s just one of these new hip social media sites that appear every few months.

Meine Forderung also: Ab sofort bekommen alle Leute, die nicht den ganzen Tag am Computer sitzen und Kaffee trinken, 20% mehr Gehalt. Alle Anderen bekommen 1 Tag weniger Arbeit und dafür einheitlich den 8h-Tag (=32h-Woche). Wenn sie weniger arbeiten wollen, können sie das ja auch auf 5-6 Tage verteilen.

Oder Leute, die im Einzelhandel arbeiten – macht doch einfach auch sonntags auf und lasst eure Leute so arbeiten, wie sie lustig sind? Wo ist das Problem?

Das Problem ist, dass die ja schon Samstags ohne höheren Lohn arbeiten muessen und das natuerlich nicht alle gern machen, es folglich immer Mangel gibt fuer Samstage. Mit Sonntagen wäre es dasselbe.

Die wünschen sich eher einen extra Tag Arbeit… Sechstagewoche.

Google Photos is the default gallery app on Google Phones.

Can you turn off location in the camera app? Because that’s what most people do. Who has location on their pictures turned on and then removes the location individually from photos in the gallery app??
